Sansevieria species have been studied for their medicinal properties, including antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, analgesic, cytotoxic, and antipyretic effects. Sansevieria roxburghiana has strong antibacterial and antifungal properties [1], while Sansevieria liberica has potent anti-inflammatory effects [2]. Sansevieria trifasciata, an ornamental plant, has strong antioxidant activity and anti-inflammatory activity [5]. These plants have shown potential as natural anti-inflammatory agents. Studies confirm Sansevieria trifasciata's analgesic and antipyretic effects [4], reducing pain and fever in writhing and formalin tests, and exhibiting cytotoxic potential in brine shrimp lethality assays, suggesting potential cancer prevention [3]. Sansevieria species' pharmacological significance in herbal medicine is supported by findings, requiring further research to isolate active compounds and explore clinical applications.
